Went to see The Twilight Saga: New MoonMonday night. I thought it was going to be great. Monday night, not a new release, not a lot of people... I prefer a less crowded movie theater.
There were only 7 people in the theater. But it was the worst experience.
The average age in the audience was at least over 42 (yeah, considering all the teenagers already rushed to see the movie in November).
Whenever there was something romantic going on, I heard snickers and smirks. Yes, I know the lines are more "Romeo and Juliet" than "Sex and the City". But did you (plural here) have to laugh when Jacob said "I'll always be there for you. I won't ever hurt you, Bella"?
Do older women no longer believe in love (and men)? Maybe that was why they laughed again when Edward went to the Volturi to end his life when he thought Bella was dead. I know it's not the most mature thing to do, but I don't think it's ridiculouslly funny, either.
At the end of the movie, one woman even stood up and said "I can't stand it anymore!". (Well, I can't stand your smirks either.)
Or was it MY problem? Considering I even teared up a couple of times during the movie. Maybe I WAS immature and abnormal enough to relate to the characters in some way.
Maybe it's me. And I'll remember to watch The Twilight Saga: Eclipse with a younger crowd.
